The Antiquated “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” policy
“The military’s recruitment crisis and a sea change in public opinion argue for an end to ‘don’t ask, don’t tell.’”
The Oregonian published an editorial today speaking to the archaic “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy the US military continues to implement. Despite suffering from a serious recruitment crisis, the military has discharged nearly 12,000 people since 1993 using the policy.
The community level discussion on the issue has finally reached the House Armed Services subcommittee, which will hold a hearing on the policy on Wednesday, July 23.

Here is a great article about the issue at the congressional level.
