BRO continues talking with papers around the state
Last week Jeana and I met with the editors from both the Corvallis Gazette-Times and the Albany Democrat-Herald. After a question of our intentions, as there is no ballot measure, we had a frank conversation about the face of the equality movement. They seemed especially interested in the issues senior LGBT folks face and will be facing in the coming years. Hopefully, we will get coverage on these issues, as well as the average age of people being domestically partnered around the state and what that says about our community in general. Not all LGBT people are 25-35, fresh out of collage and living in the city. This is a great opportunity for a community paper to shed light on the normalcy of LGBT people around the state and the fact that we are friends and neighbors in every community.
Tomorrow we will be meeting with the Pamplin Media Group before sitting down with the Portland Observer next week. After that we are off to Southern Oregon for their first ever Garden Party and meetings with local papers.
