Lambda Legal’s Health Care Fairness Campaign

Lambda Legal is currently conducting a survey to assess the experiences of people living with HIV as they access health care services.   The responses we received from coast to coast will yield valuable information that we can all use to continue to advocate for health care fairness.  In August and September we will be releasing data from the survey so organizations and activists can use this information to educate and influence decision-makers about our health care needs.

In the coming weeks we are also moving forward on two additional projects as a part of the campaign:

• Share Your Story – collecting the stories of people who have been directly affected by health care discrimination, and
• Health Care Fairness Resource Bank – compiling useful fact sheets, workshop curricula, advocacy tools and other resources from our partner organizations on health fairness issues for LGBT people and people living with HIV.

The stories will help bring to life the survey data and the resource bank will hopefully make some useful tool accessible to many in our communities.
