Azul is a trans Venezuelan migrant. They have worked in the field of reproductive justice and racial justice for over a decade. At every opportunity, from their days at BAWAR: Bay Area Women Against Rape and at Lyon-Martin Health Services, through their time at Planned Parenthood Northern California and later on at Race Forward, they have advocated for an understanding of justice that is responsive to queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color. They strive to have their work be consistently informed by -and inclusive of- other integral movements in our work towards liberation, such as those led by disabled people, sex workers, and undocumented immigrants. Azul also has a tiny dog that supports them in nesting and running around everywhere. They love sharing food, and read any piece of visionary fiction they can find. (Pronouns: They/Them)
