Dismantling Racism: Racial Justice, Immigration, and LGBT Communities

April 11, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Basic Rights Oregon for this interactive workshop addressing the commonalities and differences between racism, homophobia and transphobia. As May Day approaches, we’ll focus specifically on immigrant rights and LGBT rights, and folks who live at the intersections of our communities. Participants will develop a shared framework for understanding race and racial justice, explore the parallel and unique experiences of trans and immigrant communities, and learn how documentation is used to police both gender and national status.
