DESCRIPTION:Join us for a film screening to benefit Basic Rights Education Fund’s Trans Justice program. Through its synthesis of Antony and the Johnson’s songs and unfurling video portraiture of the 13 remarkable women who performed on stage\, TURNING creates an intimate and cinematic experience exploring themes of identity\, transcendence and the revelation of essence. “Turning represent freedom\, from society and from gender. I feel worthy\, being a woman\, an artist\, a transsexual. Being OK!” one performer puts it.  The film will be shown at the Clinton Street Theatre Friday\, March 15 through Sunday\, March 17 as well as Tuesday\, March 19 and Wednesday\, March 20.  $1 from each ticket purchased to the screenings of TURNING will be donated to Basic Rights Education Fund’s Trans Justice program.           For more information about the film\, check out the website.
