Front and Center Artist Spotlight: Angelica Ross

Basic Rights Oregon is very excited to announce Angelica Ross as our national featured artist at the 2014 Front and Center: Queer and Trans People of Color Showcase.  Angelica Ross is a trans black woman from Chicago whose mission is to, “spread a message to all people, transgender and cisgender alike that their lives and the journey of their lives are uniquely sacred and valuable.”


Angelica is a talented singer, songwriter, actress, writer, and activist. ­­Angelica was honored in the 2014 Trans 100 list and is a trans community leader who works to better the lives of trans people by raising the visibility of transgender communities through her artistic work.  Angelica is the executive director of TransTech Social Enterprises and was recently featured in Trans Beats Documentary, a film following the lives of trans musicians. She was also featured in Kokumo’s video “There Will Come a Day.”
