We are only halfway through 2014 and already it has been a monumental year! 2014 is the 45th anniversary of Stonewall, Oregon became the 18th state to win the Freedom to Marry and Basic Rights Oregon continues the work for full equality across the state.
June is Pride month and there are so many things worth celebrating! Check out all the events and activities that Asian Pacific Islander Pride, Portland Black Pride, and Portland Latino Gay Pride have coming up to celebrate Pride!
June 14th through June 15th, Asian Pacific Islander (API) Pride is marching in the parade and getting people involved in events all year long. You can find out more about API Pride and all their incredible events year round at their booth at PRIDE NW!
Portland Black Pride officially kicks off on June 18th! But you can check in and get involved with them at their booth at Pride NW, make sure you give them a shout-out while they are marching in the Pride Parade on June 15th. With over 7 events spanning from June 18th through June 22nd, there is something for everyone!
The Portland Latino Gay Pride celebration is July 25th-27th. From Voz Alta film screening Transvisible: The Bamby Salcedo Story to the Festival with tons of special guests, performers, and surprises; the celebration is not to be missed! Make sure you come by their booth at Pride NW to party on the Waterfront with Portland Latino Gay Pride and learn about what’s coming in July.
Portland Latino Gay Pride, Portland Black Pride, and Asian Pacific Islander Pride will all be located in the same area at the Pride NW Waterfront Festival. Stop by their booths for lots of fun stuff and learn more about all the amazing things they are doing in the community.
