Erin Waters is a healthcare educator and community activist. Having found a home in Portland from the deep south in 2011, she has spent years dedicating herself to supporting the larger LGBTQIA2S+ community and focused on uplifting QTBIPOC identities. She was recognized by the Gay & Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest in 2019 as a Queer Hero in the Portland Community, in 2020 she received the David J. Lawrence Community Service Award from Kaiser Permanente, and accepted the Kathleen Saadat Community Advocate Award in 2022 from Multnomah County. As a member of the transgender community, her goal is to help find better ways to break down barriers to accessing affirming care and well-being.
