Ways to Give

There are several ways you can contribute to Basic Rights Oregon’s mission of protecting and advancing LGBTQ2SIA+ rights in Oregon. Learn more below.

  • A gift to Basic Rights Oregon helps fight for equality for LGBTQ2SIA+ community members in schools, health care, housing and wherever Oregonians' rights are threatened. Donate here!

Your donation also helps us pass life-changing laws, which recently include:

    • Expanding insurance coverage for gender-affirming care

    • Ensuring inclusivity in Oregon schools

    • Securing the gender-neutral "X" option on state IDs

    • Banning the "trans panic" defense in Oregon courts

    • Improving suicide prevention services for youth

Contributions to BRO give our community the power to lobby for the changes we need. They are not tax-deductible. Donate here!

  • A gift to the Basic Rights Education Fund helps advance understanding of LGBTQ2SIA+ issues in Oregon, and empowers queer and trans Oregonians to lead our movement. Donate here!

These gifts fund the following work:

    • Transgender Inclusion workplace trainings

    • Statewide outreach and our presence at Pride events across the region

    • Transgender leadership and spokesperson development programs

Donations to BREF are an investment in a fairer, more equal Oregon, and they are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Donate here!

  • While we’ve won many landmark victories—such as the passage of the Oregon Equality Act, the freedom to marry, the first standalone transgender justice bill, a ban on youth conversion therapy, and X gender markers on licenses—we know that our advancements need defending, and that legal equality is not the same as an equal lived experience.

It will take determination and resolve to reach our dreams of full equality. A bequest to Basic Rights Oregon in your estate plan, or through beneficiary designation, will help ensure the work we’ve begun together can continue with the same urgency and passion that have led us to the progress and equality we’ve celebrated thus far.

  • his year's Pride theme is “Saddle Up! Not our First Rodeo,” which signifies the countless times we have rallied together as a community to protect and defend the rights of LGBTQ2SIA+ Oregonians. It's not our first rodeo, and it won't be our last. But we are here to stay, and we will continue to fight for LGBTQ2SIA+ equality in Oregon.

Healthcare for Oregonians--and especially young, transgender community members--is under attack. Without your generous support, Basic Rights Oregon would not be able to continue this critical, life saving work.
