Housing Resources

  • Community Alliance of Tenants: A statewide, member-controlled organization that educates and empowers tenants to demand safe, stable and affordable rental homes. While this organization is not LGBTQ-specific, it provides resources relevant to our community members. 

  • Home Forward: (Housing Authority of Multnomah County): Administers the federal Housing Choice Voucher program, owns and manages affordable housing properties, and operates other housing programs.

  • REACH Community Development: A non-profit affordable housing provider with over 2,700 affordable homes across the Portland metropolitan region and Southwest Washington.

Houselessness and Shelter Resources

  • 211: Call or use the online directory for a variety of essential services, including emergency rental assistance, shelter referrals, and energy assistance. .

  • Call To Safety: Call to Safety provides LGBTQIA specific support and services to survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Call to Safety can also provide housing referrals and shelter referral support. Support Contact Crisis Line: 888-235-5333 or 503-235-5333

  • Equi Institute: Trans and Queer Services Center offers support for healthcare, housing retention, harm reduction, recovery and advocacy. 

  • Our House of Portland: Our House provides integrated health and housing services to people with HIV/AIDS, including shelter referrals, rental assistance, supportive housing, and case management.

  • Rahab’s Sisters: A community for women, trans, and nonbinary folks experiencing poverty, houselessness, and isolation, offering clothing and supply boutiques, resource navigation, benefits enrollment, peer support, harm reduction and hygiene supplies, ID and document replacement support, gender-affirming primary care, chiropractic, massage, cosmetology services, activities, community gatherings and meals.

  • Rose Haven: Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center specifically serving women, children, and gender-diverse people in Portland.
